BGSTR helped shape the on-air design for Disney Celebrates America, the company's Fourth of July broadcast marking the nation's 250th anniversary, a 24-hour, coast-to-coast special anchored by ABC News. Beginning the evening of July 3rd and running through the Fourth, the broadcast spanned ABC, Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, ESPN, and more, moving across all 50 states as the day itself moved across the country.
That structure was the design challenge as much as the creative one: a single visual system needed to hold a sunrise segment on the East Coast and a nighttime celebration on the West Coast without ever losing its shape, stretching across a full day and every time zone in between.

The system BGSTR landed on took its cues from the country itself: bold, oversized flag elements and confident typography, built into sweeping bands that echoed the span of American time zones. Each band carries its own layered imagery, often folding multiple moments from a scene together as a way of compressing 24 hours of celebration into a single, cohesive frame without ever feeling static. It's a design built less around a single hero image than a rhythm, one that keeps pace with a broadcast that never stops moving.

That's the throughline of the work: a nation telling its story for a full day, and a design language sturdy enough to carry it the whole way through. One system, built to move with the country it was celebrating.
